Hilary Coate

Head of Integrated Production

Hilary built her career at top creative agencies like TBWA\Chiat\Day, Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, and most recently, Venables Bell & Partners.  She has produced award-winning campaigns all over the world and has established an industry-wide reputation built on honesty, integrity, diplomacy, and most importantly, creative partnership. Her work has been honored at Cannes, The One Show, D&AD, AICP, and the Effies, among others.

At VB&P, Hilary led a team of cross-functional integrated producers.  She strongly believes in embedding production at the client brief, to ensure seamless collaboration throughout the process. By working this way, her producers are able to think holistically and leverage new technology, diverse partners, and best practices to inform the development of ideas and ecosystems. The result is better quality work delivered with more efficiencies in the process.

She also re-built a revenue-generating internal content studio (Taproom) offering Clients access to a nimble group of “makers” ranging from full production/post, motion, social, digital, experiential, etc

Hilary has always had a passion for independent films.  In 2020 she produced the feature-length documentary “A Worm in the Heart” which won accolades in the festival circuit and got picked up for distribution on Amazon and Apple+!  In 2008, she produced a Documentary short called “Dunkumentary,” which was featured in the Short Film Corner at the Cannes Film Festival.

Hilary lives in Orinda, California with her (fellow executive-producer) husband, two kids, and a Goldendoodle named Ruby. She is an avid cook, yogi, and traveler.
